[Sample Text The State Key Laboratory on Advanced Displays and Optoelectronics Technologies (SKL) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) seeks applications for a Ph.D. student/ Postdoc to work in the field of photoalignment of the nanocrystals in thin films for photonic and display Application. The SKL researches in many areas of display and photonics. The Oxide thin-film transistors (TFT) array technology; third-generation organic LED (OLED) devices; liquid crystal display (LCD) devices; video signal processing; IC design; and frontier technologies are key research directions at SKL. The major task for the SKL is to develop energy-saving green displays. This Ph.D. student/Postdoc will work with a multidisciplinary team of experimental and theoretical material scientists in the area of photoalignment, nano-materials, and film passivation. He/ She will be exploring novel concepts for display and photonic devices and test methods for testing new advanced materials for energy-efficient displays and photonic applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and writing scientific publications.
